Sikh Wedding Planning in the Bay Area, California
From Roka to Reception
You're planning a week with more ceremonies than most wedding planners have ever worked and a Gurdwara that runs on rules no outside vendor knows until they're standing in it… Jaggo, mehndi, choora, milni, the Anand Karaj itself – every ritual in your week, held by a team who's already run this order before and knows your Gurdwara's rules before you have to ask.

What we brief every vendor on
EVERY RITUAL IN THE ORDER,
YOUR FAMILY RUNS THEM
Twenty-some rituals build a Sikh wedding week, and most families use a version of this order. Here's the shape of it – the full detail on each one, including what it actually requires, is in the guide below. This is the actual brief order we build vendor timelines around.
-
Pre-wedding Roka & Thaka · Kurmai (Shagun) · Chunni Chadana · Akhand Path & Bhog · Maiyan (Vatna) · Nanki Shak · Mehndi · Choora & Kaleerey · Jaggo · Sangeet
-
Wedding day Sehra Bandi · Baraat · Milni · Bar Rokna · Anand Karaj · Langar · Doli
-
Post-wedding Welcoming the Couple · Reception · Return Visits & Sadaa Suhagan
Every one of them gets its own vendor brief and its own place on one shared calendar, so a Jaggo route at 9 p.m. never collides with a florist's load-in the next morning.
What a real week looks like
Every family's version runs differently – some spread this over five or six days, some condense it into a long weekend. Here's a real shape to start from, a condensed three-day track we've actually run.
Thursday
Jaggo
City noise permits, the late-night route through the neighborhood, vendor load-out timed around it
Friday
Mehndi & Sangeet
A split program, live music blocks, a second henna artist booked if the bridal party runs large
Saturday
Anand Karaj & Reception
A split program, live music blocks, a second henna artist booked if the bridal party runs large
A Short Guide for Your Guests
Not everyone on your list has been to a Gurdwara wedding before. This is the version we hand couples to drop into an invitation or wedding website.
-
Cover your head — scarves are usually available at the entrance, but bringing your own is the safer bet.
-
Shoes off before the main hall.
-
Shoulders and knees covered, regardless of faith.
-
No alcohol, tobacco, or meat anywhere on Gurdwara property — save all of that for the reception venue.
-
Langar is for everyone. Take a seat, eat what's served.
Every Gurdwara sets its own photography rules. We confirm yours ahead of time, not on the day

Want the Rest of It, In Writing?
Everything above, plus the full five-day timeline, a day-by-day shopping and prep checklist, a vendor booking order, and the questions every family asks us first — we put it all into one guide. It's the same one we hand real couples during their first planning conversation.

How your week comes together
YOU KNOW YOUR RITUALS,
SO DOES EVERY VENDOR
01 —
Your Rituals, Mapped One
One free call, and we map your order: Roka through the Anand Karaj, run the way your family runs it. By the end, we know your Gurdwara and your rough shape for the week.
02 —
Locked In
Choose your package, and your date goes on our calendar alongside your Gurdwara's own schedule — both locked before anyone else can claim them. One team runs every ceremony from there.
03 —
Every Vendor Briefed
Every vendor gets a written brief for your rituals, not a shared guess: what a Jaggo route actually needs, when the noise permit has to be filed. Nothing waits for wedding week to get figured out.
04 —
Your Actual Week
Thursday's Jaggo, Friday's Mehndi and Sangeet, Saturday's Anand Karaj and Reception — we run all of it from one timeline. Langar headcount tracked against real RSVPs. You hear music, not logistics.
Tell Us About Your Week
Every family runs this a little differently – how many events, which ones, whose Gurdwara.
